Some little kids from down the street delivered two heart-shaped, iced sugar cookies to us today. They were fantastic. Let's hear it for good Samaritans!
I'm in a "lunch club" at school, and our theme is carrots next week. I have to prepare some kind of carrot side dish for my contribution. Any ideas? (I experimented with a carrot/potato/ zucchini shredded dish last weekend, but it didn't work out.)
That's funny, I can't think of any carrot-oriented dishes... my only thought is that carrots are so colorful that you could do a raw (or lightly-steamed) thing with some other contrast-ey vegetables and maybe some kind of sauce (garlic+shallot lightly fried in chili oil?) to pour on top. Good luck Momly! Tell us how it goes.

ReplyDeleteThe only food I've made doesn't really "feature" the carrot, just includes it:
ReplyDeleteRoasted Winter Vegetables (brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, carrots, cauliflower - tossed with olive oil, fresh rosemary and thyme and garlic)
Stuffed Peppers (with quinoa, black beans, carrots and celery)
