Kibbie rallies

I am happy to announce that when we visited our vet yesterday, Kibbie had actually gained one pound.  A year ago, this would have been very bad news, but this year, it indicates she is not on the brink of death after all. 

Kibbie has begun to eat and drink again.  That's the good news.  The bad news is that she will only eat freshly cooked chicken.  Slightly heated in the microwave.  With a touch of water added.  Placed directly in front of her. 

I'd been feeding her small portions of freshly cooked chicken tenders gound up in the food processor about five times a day, because that is all I could get her to eat.  The vet suggested I buy an entire cooked chicken ("for flavor"), debone it, remove the fat, and cut it up into tiny pieces, so I started doing that yesterday.  It's true; she seems to like the garlic roast chicken better.  Go figure.  

If nothing else, Kibbie will leave this world being the best fed gourmet cat ever.
