Holes in walls, neked floors

The bathroom destruction has begun, and what fun it's been--ear-splitting machines going all day and constant thumping on the floors and walls.  The cats don't seem to care but I think it's hard to concentrate with all that racket.  Not that I'm complaining; we've been thinking about doing this project for a couple of years.  For your viewing pleasure, here's what everything looks like so far.

Here you can see that the vanity and large cabinet next to the toilet have been removed, and most of the tile floor is gone.  We're going to replace the tile with hardwood so it matches the hallway, Lindy's room, and the rest of the house.

We're replacing the vanity with a mission oak one that looks like our buffet in the livingroom.  We're not going to replace the big cabinet, so that will make the bathroom a little more roomy.

Below is the wall you see to the right as you walk in the bathroom door.  They've cut a hole in the wall; this is where the new linen closet will be.  You can see the door to Lindy's old closet inside.  (The door in Lindy's room will be removed, obviously, and turned into a wall.)

And here, in the corner of the bathroom, is ye olde laundry chute!  Exposed!



And finally, here is the grand entry to the bathroom.  It looks like the entrance to a palace, only less grand.  At least the rest of our house is relatively protected during the project.  We like working with Icon Remodeling for this very reason.  They're careful.
